Downtown Forsyth restaurant plans grand re-opening after fire

NewsCentral Staff

A downtown Forsyth restaurant that was destroyed by fire in March of last year is set to re-open again.

Grits Cafe is planning a grand re-opening on Saturday, February 2nd. Owners Terri and Wayne Wetendorf made the announcement on the restaurant's website.

On March 19th, fire completely destroyed the business. The accidental fire started in the kitchen when the heat of a clothes dryer came in contact with the self-heating oil of the towels and ignited the cotton material. The fire spread to other fuel in the room allowing the fire to grow and get out of control.
