Dogs Sign "I Love Macon" Pledge

NewsCentral Staff

A Macon group is doing all it can to bring a positive vibe to the city on Sunday.

I Love Macon partnered up with the animal welfare organization Central Georgia Cares and hit the dog park to garner more interest in their "I Love Macon” pledge. The group wants to get 10,000 people to pledge to love Macon and be an advocate for the community. The group brought out its mascot AC Pup to hopefully get dogs and their owners to put their mark on the pledge. Organizers said a lot of animals that play at the dog park are rescues like AC and if it weren't for the people of Macon adopting dogs, the animals wouldn't have a home.

"Bringing AC Pup to the I love Macon campaign made sense because of that, having AC Pup positive following for the good that he's doing in this community just naturally lines up with the good that I Love Macon is working to do,” I Love Macon PR Representative, Susannah Maddux said.

I Love Macon needs about 1,000 more signatures by the end of January to meet its goal. Organizers will be at various community events in the next few weeks and are encouraging people to visit ilovemacon.org to sign the pledge.
