District Attorney mum about future staff shake-up

NewsCentral Staff

Bibb County's new District Attorney David Cooke is being tight-lipped about personnel changes he plans to make in the DA's office.

He wouldn't identify anyone by name or position regarding any potential staff shake-up when our cameras caught up with him. However, he did tell WGXA he met with judges on Wednesday to see what steps they can take to get more cases tried.

He says there are certain cases he plans to focus on that he believes affect the community the most.

"Right now we're moving toward bringing a sharper focus on crimes against woman and children. Basically, the kinds of crimes that affect our families the most. And, I'm making some new division heads in the office and really bringing people toward a more exciting, more vibrant prosecution staff," said Cooke.

Cooke says he will have some new hires to announce soon, but not right now.
