Demolition Begins for SPLOST funded Improvements at Fort Hawkins

NewsCentral Producer

The sights and sounds of progress could be seen and heard Wednesday morning off Emery Highway and Fort Hill Street.
That’s where a building demolition project began.
Razing the building is expected to be finished by Thursday.
But it's only the start of a 750 thousand dollar improvement and renovation project for the area.
The money was secured by a special purpose local option sales tax, or "SPLOST" that was approved by voters in November of last year.
