The Crisp County Power Commission will be lowering Lake Blackshear 3 1/2 feet below normal on a gradual basis starting November 1st.
Water levels will be low through December 15th to allow lake property owners a chance to repair existing structures. The drawdown should also slow some of the aquatic plant growth in the lake.
The commission advises anyone wishing to construct new structures, including seawalls, or make repairs to their existing structures are advised to contact Marcus Waters, Resource Manager, to determine the necessity of any permits that may be needed from the Crisp County Power Commission or other state and federal agencies.
