Congressman Barrow Supports Milledgeville Health Clinic

Kendall Herold

The Compassionate Care Clinic in Milledgeville had a special visitor Thursday morning.

Congressman John Barrow toured the facility which helps uninsured people receive primary health care. It also runs a free medical and dental clinic for those who've lost their jobs.

"There a lot of things about the health care bill that we voted on in Congress that i'm very concerned about and don't support. But what i do support is the idea of more support for more clinics of this sort. It doesnt take a phd to figure out if you can keep folks out of the emergency room where every single visits costs the rest of us literally thousands of dollars," explained Barrow.

Barrow says the clinic is an important model for the rest of the community.
