Community Raises Money For Warner Robins Police Officer and Family

NewsCentral Staff

The family of a Warner Robins police officer is getting a helping hand from the community after losing everything they own in a house fire.

The Houston County 911 Center hosted a breakfast fundraiser at Applebee's in Warner Robins on Saturday to help raise more than $1,000 for James Bish and his family. The Bish's house went up in flames while the family was at church almost two months ago. They lost nearly all of their possessions and had to gut the entire house. The money raised at the breakfast will help the family rebuild their home.

"I showed up this morning there were people I didn't even know that have showed up to help us out and it's kind of overwhelming,” Bish said.
If you'd like to donate you can call the Warner Robins Police Department at (478) 929-1161 and ask for Christie Gillen.
