Christmas Tree retailers say sales soar

NewsCentral Producer

Christmas tree retailers say sales are up this season.

Managers at Lowes say sales were better than previous years as only around 10 trees remain from their stock of 200.

Assistant Manager Travis Seldon says the remaining trees are on clearance and he hopes to sell them before Christmas.

Seldon says he's seen a trend in more people buying trees in the last few years.

"In the last five years, we've seen an increase in Christmas tree sales, a lot of times, we'll have a few trees left over as apposed to just the ten we have left over now," Seldon said.

Seldon says any trees that are not sold will be donated to charity.
