A local blogger accuses Chairman of the Bibb County Board of Commissioners, Samuel F. Hart Sr. of having a conflict of interest in supporting Bibb County Board of Education’s Macon Miracle Plan.
Chairman Hart spoke out Tuesday in support of the Macon Miracle, “I think what the School Board and Dr. Dallemand has put into place is thinking community."
The blogger believes Hart shouldn't’t lend his support, saying that Hart’s business receives financial benefits from the school board.
Chairman Hart responded that he gets his funding trough the Department of Education, not the Bibb County Board of Education.
He hopes that a plan like the Macon Miracle can provide educational advances for all children, not just children in a pull out program like the one he provides through his business.
Chairman Samuel F. Hart, Bibb County Board of Commissioners, said, “We are extremely successful, but we deal with 600 students out of 24,000. It's a pull out program. My interest in the Macon Miracle is it's not a pull out program. You can have systemic change and have an overall impact for the entire school system.”
He says he still has an active interest in the students that he serves through his program but want to support all the students in the Bibb County School system.
