Car slams into school bus during morning stop

NewsCentral Staff

A car slammed into a Laurens County school bus Wednesday morning at a bus stop in East Dublin.

School Superintendent Rob Johnson tells WGXA that at 7:20 a.m. a bus was stopped to pick up a child when it was hit from behind by a car. Then, a van then ran into the car.

Johnson says three children were on the bus and one was stepping onto the bus when the accident occurred. He says the jolt knocked down the child getting onto the bus. None of the children were injured and parents were notified.

The drivers of the car and van were taken to a local hospital as a precaution.
