Car narrowly misses slamming directly into store Wednesday morning

NewsCentral Staff

A convenience store owner had a bit of a surprise early Wednesday morning as a woman almost drove her car into his store.

It happened around 8:30 at the Marathon gas station and convenience store at the corner of Pio Nono Avenue and Mercer University Drive.

The store owner says a lady pulled off of Mercer University Drive and hit the store. However, damage to the store was minimal. A few items were knocked off the shelves inside and a dent can be seen on the outside.

34-year-old Kimberly Hampton of Macon reported to officers on the scene she became dizzy due to medical complications. She was treated at the scene.
