Car Shopper Shot and Robbed in Bibb County

The Bibb County Sheriff's Office is looking into an aggravated assault and robbery that happened Thursday afternoon that resulted in a woman shot in the shoulder.
Just before noon Thursday, 37-year-old Anita McDaniel was looking at cars at a used car lot on Pio Nono Avenue. McDaniel asked for a ride from a couple who was also at the lot, later stating that she did not know the couple.
As the trio traveled towards Macon, a male suspect who was sitting in the back seat, demanded money from McDnaiel, who was sitting in the front passenger seat. McDaniel refused to hand over any money. The male then shot her in the shoulder. McDaneil eventually gave an undisclosed amount of cash to the suspects. The suspects dropped her off at a gas station located between Pio Nono Avenue and Houston Avenue.
McDaniel was transported to the hospital where she is receiving medical treatment for her injury. She is listed in stable condition.
