Former Crawford County Sheriff's Office Investigator Tom Wallace was terminated Thursday, two days after losing the race for Crawford County Sheriff.
He was dismissed by incumbent Sheriff Lewis Walker. In a termination letter Walker told Wallace "The facts given in your recent efforts to displace me as sheriff and your statements concerning your decision to terminate me and others in the event of your success created dissension in the office among employees.
"You have openly spoken out against me internal and external policies, and I now have significant concerns about your ability to follow my leadership protocols."
Wallace says he never said he would fire the sheriff or other employees if elected.
Wallace has contacted an attorney for legal advice.
"Yes it's an at-will office and I understand that, working at the will of the sheriff, but I feel being terminated is a radical move because I'm a good guy," Wallace said.
Sheriff Walker could not be reached for comment.
