Business Increases at Great Outdoors Show

NewsCentral Staff

Wildlife enthusiasts bring boom of business to Middle Georgia.

More than 10,000 people came out to this year's Georgia Wildlife Federation Great Outdoors Show at the Agricenter in Perry. The crowd is about average for the three day event but some of the 165 vendors that set up shop said they've seen an increase in business. That's good news for the GWF who merged the Atlanta and Perry Fisherama-Turkeyrama into one big show back in 2008.

"The show has been steadily improving over the last three or four years and we're proud to say that even in a downturn in the economy, you know the shows continue to go on so that speaks well for sportsman," GWF marketing director, Sam Stowe said.

The show will be back in Perry next year. It will be the 25th anniversary and GWF organizers said they are planning a big surprise. In August, the GWF will be hosting the Buckarama in Perry.
