Bond is being considered for a wheelchair bound Macon man, accused of fatally shooting a 65-year-old Jones County woman last month at a Gray Highway gas station.
Seventy-three-year-old Frank Reeves is charged with the murder of Linda Hunnicutt. Prosecutors say he shot Hunnicutt in the parking lot of the Murphy Express gas station on December 4th.
Reeves attorney wants bond set at no more than $30,000. She says her client's failing health and immobility makes him less of a flight risk, and he is not a threat to the community.
Prosecutors are challenging the bond request, saying Reeves wasn't considered a risk to the community before Hunnicutt was killed.
Superior Court Judge Howard Simms is weighing both arguments, and in an e-mail, says he's unsure how long it will take to reach a decision.
