NewsCentral Staff

A body is found at a north Macon apartment on Tuesday.

The body of 58-year-old Roy Braswell was removed from the Forest Village Apartments. Bibb County Coroner, Leon Jones, said a person walking by apartment 902, smelled a foul odor and called authorities. After fire fighters climbed through the window, they found the man dead on the floor. Jones said the body looked like it had been there for a couple of weeks.

"The body like I said is badly decomposed,” Jones said. “We're going to get the body to the morgue, do a visual inspection and do a thorough inspection, make sure there's no gunshot wounds, no stab wounds or anything and we'll notify the sheriff's department of what we got going on.”

Braswell’s family lives in Calhoun, Ga and they have been notified.
