Body Discovered in Central City Park

Work crews stumbled upon a body in Central City Park Thursday morning.
A member of the Parks and Recreation Staff noticed the body while on the site to work on a fence right behind their building.
Bibb County Coroner Leon Jones identified the man as 29-year-old Mark Nixon of Lizella. Jones told WGXA that he appeared to be in good physical condition.
Because of recent cold weather, Jones could not predict how long Nixon may have been laying in the ditch behind the park.
An autopsy was to be performed Thursday but the cause of death could take months as they wait on toxicology results.
No foul play is suspected.
