Bikers Deliver Christmas Gifts to Children

NewsCentral Staff

Motorcycle enthusiast hit the road to deliver gifts to children on Saturday who wouldn't have a Christmas this year.

More than 200 bikers rode in the "Toy Run" hosted by Harley Davidson of Macon and the Macon Harley Owners Group (H.O.G.) chapter to benefit the Hephzibah Children's Home. The annual run raises more than $5,000 that's donated to the home to help with various expenses. Bikers said they can get a bad name but they like to give back to the community and help those who are less fortunate.

"The children here, they are from bad circumstances and we try to give them an extra little something to make their year brighter,” Macon H.O.G assistant director, David Strickland said.
The Macon H.O.G chapter is electing new officers now and plan on hosting the ride again next year.
