Bibb Theft Suspect Arrested

A Bonaire man accused of shoplifting is behind bars after leading deputies on a high speed chase.
Lieutenant Sean DeFoe of the Bibb County Sheriff's Office tells NewsCentral, 28-year old Cody Darrell Montgomery is in custody charged with two counts of Theft by Shoplifting, Driving With A Suspended License, Reckless Driving, Bench Warrant State Court and also has holds from Houston County and the Georgia State Patrol.
DeFoe says Montgomery is accused of shoplifting from the Lowe's on Zebulon Road late Thursday afternoon.
According to a press release Montgomery fled the store in a Honda with deputies following behind. DeFoe says Montgomery lead deputies on a pursuit that ended when he ran over stop sticks on Highway 42.
Additional charges are pending in the case against Montgomery.
