NewsCentral Staff

There are some new faces at the Bibb County District Attorney's office.

District Attorney David Cooke says he has hired five new people. Some started today , while others begin work in a few weeks. Cooke says during the tranition from his predecessor, some employees transferred, some resigned and others retired.

A few of the positions include a victim's advocate, senior assistant district attorney and a prosecutor for crimes against children.

"These are the kind of people you don't have to ask to do the job. They're already asking 'What can I do next?' And, as a matter of fact, they go ahead and do it and move on to the next thing. Those are the kind of people, the people who have a zeal and passion for justice, that any DA wants," said Cooke.

Four out of the five candidates are women.
