An executive session on Monday has resulted in a new contract proposal between the Bibb County Board of Education and Superintendent Romain Dallemand.
The term would be from January 1, 2013 to December 31, 2015.
Dallemand would earn 198-thousand dollars a year and miscellaneous other perks, such as an $800 a month vehicle allowance.
Noticeably absent from the meeting, and the negotiations, were newly elected members Jason Downey and Lester Miller, who have not taken office yet, but who recently wrote an open letter to the Board arguing that they should have a spot at the table. Board member Gary Bechtel says that letter and argument were not discussed.
Bechtel, along with Lynn Farmer and Susan Sipe, voted against the contract.
"A lame duck board should not determine a contract that goes for three years into virtually all of the 4 year terms for the three board members that were elected in November. I mean it doesn't make any sense to me." -Gary Bechtel/Bibb School Board
The contract passed 5-3.
