The Bibb County Board of Education gets the second phase of the Forensic Financial Audit.
The Audit, performed by McGladrey LLP looked at four years of spending by district employees and found an estimated $30,000 in misspent money. The audit also found several schools using system credit cards in violation of policy.
Superintendent Dallemand refused to go on camera but did issue this statement.
"I am deeply concerned about the findings that implementation manuals do not align with Board policies." The statement goes on to say, "As the Superintendent, I am called into action."
Board member Gary Bechtel says that the extremely low percentage of misspending speaks volumes to the honesty of the district employees.
"When the Superintendent makes statements like he did about taking it seriously. About certain instances.Just reach out to the employees and congratulate them for being honest and don't continue to stigmatize them." -Gary Bechtel Bibb BOE
The Audit cost the district $400,000 billed at $195 dollars an hour.
