Bank Robber Gets Jailtime in Houston County

An accused bank robber in Houston County has plead guilty and been sentenced to jail time.

Jay Aultman robbed a bank of September 16th, 2011. Aultman walked into a local bank and passed a note to the teller that demanded money and claimed to have a bomb nearby.

Judge Katherine K. Lumsden sentenced Aultman to 20 years and ordered that he serve Fifteen 15 years in prison. In addition, Aultman was ordered to pay restitution and to have no contact with the victims of the crime.

District Attorney George Hartwig told WGXA, "Crimes that threaten our citizens and local businesses will not go unpunished in Houston County. My office will continue to seek a full measure of justice for the people of Houston County.”

Aultman was prosecuted by Houston County Assistant District Attorney Jacob W. Poole.
