Baldwin County Fire Department Toy Drive Needs Community Help

NewsCentral Staff

A county fire department needs the community's help in making children’s wishes come true this holiday season.

The Baldwin County Fire Department teamed up with "Kids Yule Love" for its third annual toy drive. More than 300 kids up to 14 years-old in Baldwin County have asked for a present this year. This is the largest request ever and Baldwin County Fire Department Chief, Troy Reynolds, said the loss of jobs in the community has contributed to the high demand. Reynolds said they want the community to donate new toys.

"We're in need this year,” Reynolds said. “This is the highest request year that we've had so we're asking the communities, the people in the community to help. Companies that want to do employee toy drives we'll be glad to come pick up the toys."

There are a few drop-off locations around the county including fire stations, the court house, Baldwin County Water Department and various businesses. All the gifts will be given to the Department of Family and Children Services and delivered to children in Baldwin County. The last day to donate a toy is December 17.
