BMW Recalls Over 500-Thousand Cars for Engine Issues

NewsCentral Staff

BMW is recalling more than a half-million cars in the U-S due to possible power failure and engine stalling.

Apparently, a battery cable that supplies power to the vehicle's fuse box can wear out and cause problems.

The recall affects BMW's 1-series, 3-series and Z4 models. Some made as early as 2007 and as late as last year.

BMW has known about the problem since July 2010.

Initially the carmaker issued a service bulletin instructing dealers how to fix the problem but later decided to issue a full recall.
