Some people could call a Macon woman the Atlanta Falcons ultimate fan and well she wears the feathers to prove it.
Atlanta Falcons “Bird Lady” Carolyn Freeman has been a team mascot for 15 years. Freeman travels to every home game and all but three away games every season cheering on her team to victory in a new homemade costume. While fans see her at tailgates and shaking it at half time, Freeman is not paid by the organization and foots the bill herself to cheer on the team. She said it can get expensive since she lives off a disability check but it's worth it to see her men hopefully make the playoffs.
"We've been able to avoid serious injuries,” she said. “It seems like everything has just lined up perfectly for us this year and I do believe that this is our year and we're going to get our ring."
Freeman is a draftee for the Professional Ultimate Fan Association in the Sports Hall of Fame but she won't know until the Super Bowl if she makes it. She is also in talks with two networks to have her own reality show.
