Arrest Made in Washington County Arson

Officials have made an arrest in a case of arson in Washington county.

55-year-old Larry Smith of Sandersville has been charged with first-degree arson for intentionally setting his home on fire.

Insurance and Safety Fire Commissioner Ralph Hudgens told WGXA, “The wood frame home, approximately 60-years-old was destroyed. Investigators have determined that Smith used gasoline to start the fire.”

Smith is currently being held in the Washington County jail.
