Arrest Made in Christine Cook Murder

NewsCentral Staff

Macon Police Chief Mike Burns says citizens can rest easier knowing they have a suspect in custody for the murder of Christine Patton Cook.

Macon Police walked 31-year-old Arie Bonner, III from the Detectives Bureau to a waiting car Tuesday evening where he was taken to the Bibb County Law Enforcement Center.

Cook was found dead last Thursday morning in her north Macon home. Police say her home had appeared ransacked and her car was missing.

Police aren’t revealing much more information. The suspect also had little to say about his arrest.

Police refused to say how they connected the suspect to the murder scene but they did credit the help of the Perry and Warner Robins Police Departments as well as the Houston County Sheriff's Office.

Bonner should have a court appearance Wednesday.
