Air Force Announces Hiring Freeze

Air force officials are implementing a force-wide hiring freeze

Air force senior leaders sent a memorandum to commanders earlier this week advising them of the hiring freeze.

This step is part of the air force's efforts to pursue recoverable steps to be ready for the possibility of sequestration and budgetary shortfalls.

The temporary hiring freeze applies to all positions that are open to applicants outside the air force, for permanent, temporary and term vacancies.
