AC Pup Celebrates His Birthday With the Community

NewsCentral Staff

An animal welfare group's mascot turns four on Saturday and the group is celebrating by bringing awareness to community issues.

Central Georgia C.A.R.E.S hosted AC Pup's 4th birthday party at the Georgia Industrial Children's Home. In lieu of a present, each year the non-profit organization asks the community to donate goods and this year it was dog and cat food. The group will use the food to provide a meal to starving animals in the area.

"C.A.R.E.S is helping so many needy families and rescue groups feed their animals,” Central Georgia C.A.R.E.S Chairman Patti Jones said. “So we're always are in need of food and we thought this would be a great way to engage the community to help us provide that food.”

The Georgia Industrial Children's Home will be a permanent drop off point for people who want to donate dog or cat food.
