"Tele" Serving The Community

Kendall Herold

Warner Robins Police Department Teleserve program has been around for about five years now, taking phone calls from the community, and filling out police reports over the phone.

And the whole reason behind the program? To help speed up the process.

Captain Lisa Angell is the Teleserve Commander and says, "They don't have to wait for an officer to arrive. If they call an officer, or call 911, it can be routed over here to Teleserve and get a response within 5 minutes."

Telserve can save you around ten minutes in wait time and also helps to lighten the load for response officers.

If you've had a problem with identity theft, your property has suffered criminal damages, or you've been receiving harassing phone calls, you're a perfect candidate for Teleserve.

"Let's say they're car got broken into, and they want to see if they can get fingerprints off that car, we can still take that phone call," explains Cpt. Angell.

Last year, Teleserve took about 4,500 phone calls. That's only about 9% of the total calls the Police Department took in. And that's why they're trying to make you aware of your options to better help protect yourself.

If you'd like to contact Teleserve, you can call 478-293-1040.
