WR City Council Discusses New LEC

The Warner Robins City Council discussing the construction of a law enforcement center Monday.
Council member Tom Simms tells FOX 24 the purpose of the meeting was to bring new members up to speed on plans for the LEC and approve land appraisals of Perkins Field and another field to follow DNR regulation.
Simms says the l-e-c is slated to be located on Perkins Field but not without concern.

“I played ball on that field as a catcher and Mr. Perkins’ himself leaned on me may occasionally and we had a lot of good conversations and he actually helped with my upbringing so I understand that concern about the LEC being put on Perkins’ field."

Simms says $5 million has been allotted to the construction of the LEC through the SPLOST of 2006.
