Captain Guy Mosteller tells FOX 24 News, Dr. Thomas Sachy was incarcerated by the Jones Sheriffs Department after alleging that the Sheriff's Department and Superior Court System were corrupt.
Mosteller says Dr. Sachy believes there was a conspiracy against him.
Sachy is charged with contempt because he didn't pay a $930,000 fee to his former wife, Dr. Melissa Sims. The payment was ordered by Judge Hulane George in 2008 during the couples divorce hearing.
Sachy was released from the Jones County Law Enforcement Center after paying some of the money he owed. He's now out of jail, and has 30 days to come up with the rest of the money owed or he'll be put back into the LEC.
