Superbowl Crowds: A Touchdown for Local Businesses

Kendall Herold

The Superbowl is one of the most-watched sporting events in the country, and here in Middle Georgia, many bars and restaurants spent Sunday afternoon preparing for the 44th Annual Superbowl game.

Wild Wing Cafe in the River Crossing Shopping Centre says that Superbowl night is one of their busiest times of the year.

Bartender Wyndell Vinson spent the afternoon stocking the bar and preparing for the flock of football fans that would soon take over Wild Wing.

"We're stocking up the bar, getting the kitchen ready for a funfilled night at Wild Wing Cafe," said Vinson.

Wagers Bar and Grill also preparing for a big evening, one that also helps drive their business.

April Shiver with Wagers said, "This will be a huge night for us because we're expecting a huge crowd. We'll have all our regulars in, and hopefully some new people in and just enjoy a good football game."

Both Wild Wing and Wagers agreed on two top selling items that are must haves for avid football fans: Beer, and wings.

Both Wild Wing and Wagers say that it doesn't matter what team is playing in the Superbowl, but the night filled with fun and football is always a touchdown for business.
