Suspected Bibb Burglars Arrested

Two men are under arrest accused of stealing metal from a Massey Road home.

Lieutenant George Meadows of the Bibb County Sheriff's Office tells FOX 24 News, alert neighbors in the 1500 block of Massey Road dialed 911 Monday morning when they saw two suspicious men entering a home.

Meadows says deputies arrested Ceils Merritt, Jr. and Phillip Mulling at the scene. Merritt of Lizella is charged with Burglary and Probation Violation. He is being held in the Bibb County Law Enforcement Center on $8,450 bond. Mulling of Macon, is charged with Burglary and has been released on a $8,450 bond.

Deputies say the two were driving a blue 1987 Toyota 4x4 pickup and were removing various types of metal from the property.

Meadows says both Merritt and Mulling have previous arrests in Bibb County.
