Lines of people fill the Macon Centreplex for an afternoon of ice, cold, fun. Macon's seasonal Holiday activity opened its doors Tuesday for guests taking their glide at ice skating.
Marisol Ortiz anxiously awaited for this ice rink to open, "Well I've been really counting down the days, the last time I went ice skating was a couple weeks ago up in Atlanta and I'm really glad that skating is back in my hometown."
Macon Centreplex has hosted an annual ice rink for the passed 15 years, so the process of putting it back together was smooth as ice.
General Manager David Rosenberg says, "We started on Friday of last week putting the ice rink back together and laying ice and it's been a four or five day process."
Rosenberg continues to say that last years skating season had thousands and thousands of visitors to lace up and take their attempt at skating, "It's very busy. We have had thousands and thousands of people that come and really enjoy this in November, December and January. So we're really excited to offer it again."
As far as this year's skating season goes, Rosenberg says, "We think we're going to have a great year. I think it's a relatively inexpensive way to enjoy the afternoon."
At eight dollars per person, it includes admission for the ice and skate rental. FOX 24's co-anchor, Adam Hammond even came out to Tuesday's opening to skate.
So if you're looking Holiday, ice, cold fun, head to the Macon Centreplex for some ice skating.
