Bibb County Advance Voting Begins

Voters in Bibb County are heading to the polls to vote on a proposed one cent sales tax benefiting the school system.

Bibb County voters are deciding on a sales tax proposal that if passed, will go towards five new elementary schools, enhanced security and technology and several new athletic facilities.

The tax is in the 20-10 to 20-15 capital improvement program, which seeks to raise 198-million dollars from the one cent sales tax over a five year period, beginning in the year 2011.

Advance voting runs through October 30th at the Bibb County Board of Elections located on Pio Nono Avenue in Macon.

expensive schools do not encourage better students. that starts with the parents in the homes.the more expensive the equipment the more the thieves will steal.
