David Cook Talks Fans, Fair Food, and Future Plans

Kendall Herold

2008 American Idol Winner David Cook prepared to rock Reeves Arena at the Georgia National Fair Sunday, playing for a Middle Georgia crowd for the second time in less than a year.

David Cook says, "Some of the best crowds we've had have been here in Georgia and in the South. So, I'm stoked to be out this way."

And Cooks fans certainly are dedicated. They waited outside the arena for hours in hopes of a glimpse of the Idol.

David Cook Fans added:

"We's the best there ever was. He's a genuine, good guy."
"When I saw him on American Idol, He was the only rock star that really had rock potential."
"He's goregous! And, he can sing."

Cook says many of his favorite bands come from Georgia, and he's recently picked up a new favorite thing in the Peach state, after tasting the fair food.

"I had a deep fried oreo last night, and I'm pretty sure my life has been changed forever."

And Cooks life is about to change.. it's going to get a lot busier in coming months.

"We're starting to work on our second record, while we're out on the road utnil the end of December. Hopefully we'll get in the studio in February, and get the record out by the summertime."

Cook is also joining the cast of fellow Idol winner Carrie Underwood's new Holiday show.

"I'm just looking forward to going, and having a good time."

Fans traveled from as far as Texas to hear the Idol perform at the Georgia National Fair.
