Tractor Trailer Overturns On Interstate 75

The driver of a tractor trailer is recovering at a local hospital after his tanker truck overturns in an Interstate crash.

Sergeant Mike Hull of the Monroe County Sheriff's Office tells FOX 24 News, for an unknown reason the driver of the tanker truck swerved into the median and crashed around 6:45 a.m. on Friday. Hull says the driver was taken to a local hospital for treatment.

Hull says the tanker truck contained a sodium hydrosulfite solution which is a mildly hazardous material. The Interstate was closed for almost three hours during the cleanup. The crash happened on Interstate 75 North near the Bass Road exit in Monroe County.
