Warner Robins Holds Annual Concert

Chace Ambrose

The 4th of July is this weekend and that means just one thing for Warner Robins area residents, time to head out to McConnell-Talbert Stadium for the annual 4th of July Celebration Concert featuring the band of the Air Force Reserve and this year, the Miracles. And though it is an annual event it still means a lot, not only to the community but also to the participants.

"It's doubly interesting because its a great way for us to celebrate our nation's birthday. What better opportunity than to spend it with our community here that we have in Warner Robins, the one that supports Robins Air Force Base so much so its a great way for us to give back to the community that continues to give to us." -Major Don Schofield/Band Conductor

This is the 26th year for the concert and this year in particular features a couple of celebrations. Performing band The Miracles are celebrating their 50th year together, and speaking of celebrating being together the King family of Warner Robins planned their entire family reunion around the event.

"I'm enjoying it to the fullest. We all enjoy it we planned it for a good little while and we're turning out and enjoying ourselves with it." -Tyrone King/Celebrating Family Reunion

Anything else you'd like to add?

"I wish everybody to have a good time!" -Tyrone King/Celebrating Family Reunion

And no doubt they did, last year's celebration brought out 26,000 people to McConnell Talbert Stadium and early estimations put this year's total slightly higher.
