Red Cross Responds To Roberta House Fire

An early morning house fire leaves a Crawford County family without a home.

Ryan Logan of the American Red Cross tells FOX 24 News, volunteers responded to a house fire in the 2200 block of Hortman Mill Road in Roberta on Monday.

Chief Randall Pate of the Crawford County Fire Department tells FOX 24 News, the blaze began in the closet of the master bedroom around 7:40 a.m. Pate says no one was at home when the fire broke out, but two family pets were lost in the blaze.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation. The Red Cross is providing food, clothing and shelter for the family.
