House Explodes in East Dublin

Linh Bui

A house explosion in East Dublin sends two people to a burn center. Lieutenant Louis Blue with East Dublin Police tells FOX 24 News that the blast happened at 407 Jordan Street around 1:30 am on Friday.

Blue says two people were inside the home when the explosion happened - Roosevelt Charleston who is in his late 60s and Sara Johnson who is in her late 40s. According to Blue, both were airlifted to the Joseph M. Still Burn Center in Augusta, where they underwent surgery on Saturday and are doing "okay".

Blue says officials believe there was a natural gas leak in the house and that when someone lit a match, the house exploded. He says the house is completely destroyed.
