It may be sunny this Mother's Day, but a year ago on this holiday, tornadoes riped though Middle Georgia taking out many businesses and homes in their path.
Logic Ministries on Bloomfield Road when four oak trees fell on this Sanctuary behind me.
Logic Ministries Chairman of Deacons Dantia White says, "We got a call early that morning, and we had learned that there were several oak trees in the middle of the Sanctuary. Newly purchased music equipment was damaged and we all came out and tried to do what we could to salvage some of the property of the church."
Associate Pastor Miran Brown adds, "We couldn't understand it. But, as we continue to grow together, with the church members, they didn't waiver. They didn't stop coming.
Logic Ministries has since built a brand new, state of the art sanctuary, thanks to insurance money.
Church Associate Minister Arizona White says, "We are beyond the point where we thought we'd be. We had no understanding, we did not anticipate being in such a beautiful sanctuary."
Church officials say the road to this Mother's Day Service wasn't an easy one, but something that they overcame together.
Pastor Dr. Arthur Brown added, "What happens when the bottom falls out. When tragedy falls. When an oak tree falls and destroys your ediphus. Can you apply that? And at Logic, we were able to apply that. We had a facility right next door where we were able to come together."
Mirian Brown said, "It's bittersweet. Bitter, because it brings back the memories of when we came over that Mothers Day, on May 11th, last year. And to see the devastation. Sweet, because look where we're at now. "
At the end of the day, church leaders say they're still...
"Greatful!"
The church has held regular services since the re-dedication service on March 29th.
