The Cherry Blossom Festival has announced its headline act for the 2013 street party and here's a hint...'hold on loosely.'

Southern rock veterans 38 Special were named by festival officials to play the Saturday, March 23rd at the Gala Street Party. The group, known for hits such as "Caught Up In You" and "If I'd Been the One" have sold more than 20 million records. Last year the group was named to the Georgia Music Hall of Fame.

The 10-day festival gets underway March 15th. Other bands set to play include the Atlanta Funk Society, the Wild Feathers and the Dirty Guvnah's.

The Street Party will take place directly in front of the Terminal Station in Cherry Street Plaza on Saturday, March 23rd, as part of the 31st annual Cherry Blossom Festival – scheduled for March 15th – 24th. Tickets will be available for advance purchase on February 26th through the Festival’s Official Ticketing Service, Mercer Ticket Sales at the Grand Opera House.
