The Perry Chamber of Commerce gathered at Rotary Centennial Park to unveil its plans for the 25 annual Dogwood Festival. The city planted 25 new Cherokee Princess Dogwood Trees around the city to commemorate the event.
"In Perry you see the beautiful colors of the Dogwood and it’s just one way to add more color with the beautiful trees add to the presentation that we have in downtown historic Perry as well as all around the community,” 2013 Chamber Chairman Beth McLaughlin said.
The official artwork was also revealed to the public and prints will be available at the festival. Some new events the public can expect this year are a hot air balloon rally at the Georgia National Fairgrounds and a DogDock competition. The festival will be April 13 and 14.
