21st Century Partnership names new leader, reorganizes structure

Retired Major General Robert H. McMahon was voted the new President and CEO of the 21st Century Partnership Thursday.

Board members also voted to change the organization's structure during the meeting. The organization will ow operate with dual boards and be categorized as a non-profit with a tax exempt status.

McMahon the former commander at the Warner Robins Air Logistics Center says the new structure will help the organization fulfill its mission to enhance to value of Robins Air Force Base to the community it operates in.

"What this does is give us more of a business oriented structure that will allow us not only to respond near term, but more importantly begin to build long term plans and economic support that's necessary to be able to implement those long term plans," McMahon said.

The new non-profit is now asking local businesses and other groups that benefit from the Air Force base to pledge money towards the organization. A representative from the Houston County Board of Commissioners says it has already pledged $55,000 for next year.
