Streets and Windows are painted and the clock is ticking. The 2013 Cherry Blossom's Festival is less than two weeks away and it's a first for the festival's new CEO Jake Ferro.

"Working fast and furious to put all the finishing touches on so many events," said Ferro.

Twenty-two sanctioned events in addition to the 60+ events managed by the festival itself, including the Gala Ball which gets things started March 15.

"We got nightly concerts, daily concerts, camel rides, tiger shows and helicopter rides," said Ferro. "So we got a lot for everybody, all demographics as well as all ages."

For those not quite prepared, Ferro says don't panic, keep calm.

"We opened our souvenir shop on Mulberry Street."

"We have our cherry blossom's umbrella for when it starts raining," said Souvenir Manager Collin Holder as he dug the umbrella from behind a box. "But we're not expecting rain during the festival."

There may not be a rush for the umbrella, Holder says the hot ticket items are going fast.

"The top items have definitely been the T-Shirts and the 2013 pins."

This year, cherry blossom pins are seeing a $5 bump in price, but for good reason.

"You get to enter into a raffle to win one of five $100 gas gift cards or a $5,000 cash prize that will be drawn the last day of the festival at Central City Park."

The shop is furnished with pink wigs, poodles and just about anything else you can imagine in the feature color.

"There's something in here for everyone," said Holder.

What is the Cherry Blossom's Festival without Cherry Blossoms. Every year the $1 million question is "Will the blossom's bloom in time?

"One of the best ways to look at it is to look at the Dogwood's," said Ferro. "As the Dogwood's start to bloom and they are starting to bloom, within a 10 day period the Cherry Blossom's start coming out. So, if we get the weather that is forecast for this coming weekend and into next week, I think it's going to be a beautiful festival."
