Runoff Election Results

Voters in three central Georgia counties were asked to cast their ballots Tuesday in required runoff elections.

In Taylor County, there was a runoff election for County Commissioner in District 4 between Incumbent Jerry Albritton and Russell Pounds. With all votes totaled, Pounds has defeated Albritton to win the runoff.

In Putnam County, there was a runoff election for County Commissioner in District 1 between Kelvin Irvin and Frederick Ward. Ward has narrowly defeated Irvin by just 8 votes to win the election. All precincts are reporting in Putnam County.

In Wilcox County, there was a runoff election for the office of Sheriff between candidates Mike Martin and Lonnie Curry. There were five candidates for Wilcox County Sheriff back in November. With all votes totaled, Mike Martin has been elected new Sheriff of Wilcox county by securing nearly 62% of the vote over Lonnie Curry.
