A man was arrested and a handgun secured inside a Mulberry Street building Wednesday night, after reports of shots being fired in a parking deck off Cherry Street Lane.

At about 11:45 pm, Macon police responded to calls and heard shots being fired. They determined they were coming from the offices of Bibb Collection, 518 Mulberry Street.

After surrounding and partially evacuating the building, police found 36-year-old Forest Perrin on the second floor. As they were securing Perrin, police say, a gun fell from his pocket.

Perrin was charged with burglary, midemeanor reckless conduct, carrying a concealed weapon and resisting an officer.

Perrin was taken to the Bibb County Law Enforcement Center but later released on $11,050 bond.
