Middle Georgia women turned out to show their support for incumbent senator Miriam Paris today in downtown Macon’s Stuckey Building.
Senator Paris is in a critical runoff against David Lucas to retain her seat in Atlanta.
Representative Nikki Randall and Councilwoman Lauren Benedict spoke at Paris' press conference on why they believe she's the best candidate for the job.
Democrat Rep. Nikki Randall is a member of the Georgia House of Representatives in District 142 and gives reasons why she supports Miriam for Senate, "I endorse Senator Miriam Paris because she does not embarrass me at the Capital. She does not embarrass this community at the Capital."
Paris is the first African-American woman to be elected to the state senate from Middle Georgia. She filled the seat vacated by the late senator Robert Brown when she was elected in 2011.
